Congratulations to Mark Mahoney of Olathe Northwest High School on his selection
as the 2009-2010 Kansas Coaches Association Softball Coach of the Year! Mark
received the most votes by the Kansas Softball Coaches Association Member Coaches
for his selection. He led his Olathe Northwest Raven Softball Team to a 25-0
record and the 2009 6A State Championship. Mark will be recognized at this
coming 2010 Summer KSHSAA Clinic in Topeka.
The above list of Softball Coaches were selected by their KSCA Member Softball
Coaches.
The above listed Softball Coaches were then a candidate for the Kansas Coaches
Association Softball Coach of the Year. Mark Mahoney of Olathe Northwest was
that selection by the KSCA Members. Thank you to all the KSCA member softball
coaches that participated and sent in their ballot.

The Kansas Softball Coaches Association (KSCA) is a professional growth organization for all Kansas High School Softball Coaches. It consists of a group of high school softball coaches interested in promoting the game of fast-pitch softball.
The purpose of this Kansas Softball Coaches Association shall be:
1. To stimulate the development of quality leadership for high school fast-pitch coaches and softball programs.
2. To keep members informed of current coaching techniques and trends.
3. Provide an opportunity for educational training for high school softball coaches.
4. To provide a high school softball support system for encouraging and providing guidance in the development and conduct of fast-pitch softball programs whose purposes directly correlate with the general objectives of education.
5. Instilling within the coaches a deep sense of responsibility for developing and conducting programs that will enrich the lives of the participants.
6. To facilitate public and professional understanding and appreciation of the importance and value of the sport of fast-pitch softball.
7. To identify and pursue issues relevant to fast-pitch softball coaches and to the sport of fast-pitch softball. To provide a forum for the discussion of matters of interest to the members of the association. To serve as a liaison to the KSHSAA Executive Board in discussion of matters of interest or possible rule changes to high school fast-pitch softball. To provide a united body for positive action relative to the sport of fast-pitch softball.
8. To provide a channel of communication among the high school fast-pitch softball coaches.
9. To promote cooperative efforts with other professional organizations similarly interested in the ultimate development of fast-pitch softball programs and opportunities for softball players.
10. Provide for a state ranking system and a state selection process for the recognition of outstanding team and individual player and coach’s accomplishments.
